My name is José Emilio Figueroa
How powerful is the word "why", right? Since I have memory, this kept with me, always asking weird questions that, sometimes, even my teachers couldn't answer. Being curious has led me to learn new skills like real-time rendering with Unreal Engine, photography, drawing, or painting.
The above, combined with a natural skill to lead teams, work with others and a desire to always produce meaningful art has led me to direct short films like “Yellow” (2019), “Nazi de Mierda” (2019), and "Salchipop" (2020); In the last two, I also participated as a screenwriter.
In the end, not only do I want to create beautiful art but create one that is relevant and meaningful for people like you and me.

Official photographer for the "International Festival of Arts 2018" and "National Festival of Arts 2019" which are the most important artistic and cultural festivals in Central America, both organized by the Ministry of Culture of Costa Rica.
2020
Director and Screenwriter
Director and scriptwriter of "Nazi de mierda" (2019) and "Salchipop" (2020) both produced for university assignments. Also, I had the pleasure to be the director of "Yellow" (2019).
2021
Producer and AV Producer
Developer and producer of the new format of MUA Awards and College Animation Showcase (MUA for its acronym in Spanish). Both are online live event that shows all the student projects of the past semester in an entertaining way, besides awarding the very best projects.
2022 - Present
Environment Artist
Game environment artist for an unannounced VR game and "The Bornless" an FPS multiplayer survival horror game.
I also do other things.
Besides dedicating professionally to digital animation, I'm always trying to express myself and my surroundings through art, for that reason I also practice photography, cinema, poetry, and traditional painting, which those skills end up feeding and enriching my 3D art and myself as an artist.
